This is partnership project leaded by the IdMind company teaming up with Instituto Superior Técnico (Portuguese technical university) and Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros de Lisboa (Lisbon fire-fighters).
RAPOSA is a robot developed to operate on environments hostile to human presence, like wreckage from an earthquake or terrorist attack. It is a search and rescue (SaR) robot to be used by fire-fighters or other SaR teams, to evaluate the terrain conditions and find survivors.
For a detailed introduction to the robot, see the introduction.
To see the robot in action, check out the photos and videos.
The project has been mentioned on the media, and the robot has been showed in Segurex 2005.
RAPOSA is a versatile platform that can be easily adapted to other kind of tasks beyond search and rescue. Do not hesitate on contacting us for further information on both RAPOSA and other robotic aplications: info@idmind.pt
